Mojave Trails

Mojave Trails protects historic resources including ancient Native American trading routes, World War II-era training camps, and the longest remaining undeveloped stretch of Route 66. Towering sand dunes, remnants of a volcanic past and a rainbow-hued gorge are just a few of the irreplaceable natural treasures also found here.

Mojave Trails

Did you know, portions of the Mojave Desert east of Barstow between Interstate 15 & 40 is now recognized as National Monuments? Thanks in part to the Mojave Desert Land Trust and other conservation organizations and individuals, a wonderfully informative and easy to navigate website was created to guide visitors through this surprisingly beautiful area of Southern California.
