Established in 1881, this mining town produced an immense amount of silver orebefore eventually becoming abandoned when the prices for silver dropped.
Today Calico is part of the San Bernardino County Regional Parks system visited by people from around the country and all over the world. The park offers visitors an opportunity to share in its rich history and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding desert environment. Along with its history and attractions, there are shops, restaurants and offers camping and outdoor recreation not available at most of the other BLM park facilities.
Due to the historic nature of the town, not all areas are ADA accessible.
